Multiple Products

3.OA.4-7
Module 7 Lesson 9
Differentiation Activity

Students shuffle and draw cards from the stack to create multiplication expressions.  They can stop flipping cards at any time and calculate their product.  If a card showing the 0 is drawn, they stop flipping and receive a zero for that round.  The player with the highest product for that round wins 1 point.  Students shuffle the cards and play the next round.  The student with the most points after 5 rounds is the winner.

Division Expression Game

3.OA.4-7
Module 7 Lesson 7
Differentiation Activity

Students each get a game board and a set of cards.  They place three counters on their gameboard and draw cards trying to get a quotient to match which numbers they have chosen.  If their quotient matches, they can remove that counter. The first student to remove all counters is the winner.

Module 6, Lesson 12
Differentiation Activity

Students can draw two cards and use them to form a word problem that involves multiplication. They can use the activity Headlines from Putting the Principles Into Action by Susan O'Connell and John SanGiovanni  page 35 to connect the equation to a story.

Module 7, Lesson 2
Differentiation Activity, Fundamentals Game

Students can play the game Times This.  They work on their 10s facts and 9s facts by building down from 10.  Player 1 draws a card and decides whether they want to multiply it by 9 or 10.  The student who can place 4 counters either in a row or in a square is the winner.
